Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Litigation Secretary for a nationally recognized Am Law firm with a sophisticated litigation practice. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Los Angeles, California, with a 2-day remote / 3-day onsite schedule.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support attorneys handling complex civil defense, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and appellate matters. This role provides comprehensive legal and administrative support throughout all phases of litigation, including document preparation, court filings, calendaring, trial support, and client communication. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced law firm environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, proofread, revise, and electronically file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, agreements, subpoenas, appellate documents, and other legal filings in state and federal courts
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, travel arrangements, and scheduling while ensuring compliance with litigation deadlines
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and internal teams while providing exceptional administrative and client service support
- Open new matters, coordinate conflict checks, maintain electronic and physical client files, and support document management throughout the litigation lifecycle
- Utilize document management, workflow, and legal technology systems while transcribing, formatting, editing, and producing high-quality legal documents
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, legal assistants, docketing personnel, and administrative staff to support complex litigation matters and special projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–5 years of litigation secretary experience supporting civil defense, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, appellate, or other complex litigation practices
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules, litigation procedures, calendaring, and electronic filing systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, iManage, InTapp, Chrome River, and legal workflow platforms; experience with BigHand Now is a plus
- Excellent organizational, proofreading, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, strong client service skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
