Product Engineer

Location: Twinsburg, OH

Overview

The ideal candidate will support sustaining engineering initiatives by leading projects related to improving yield through design optimization, component obsolescence, evaluating alternate components for new product development, and supporting Design-to-Order proposals and associated custom engineering activities upon approval.

Responsibilities

• Develop an environment of continual improvement using Lean tools.
• Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
• Establish and implement product design and manufacturing changes for cost reduction and improved product performance.
• Improve product yields of legacy products through redesign and part specification efforts.
• Resolve product performance issues because of design or component limitations.
• Work with Test Engineering with the training of operators and technicians on products.
• Revision of project data, including schematic drawings, mechanical sketches, and bills of material.
• Design circuits, systems or structures as required by the sustaining design project manager.
• Calibration, data collection, and environmental testing of prototypes.
• Technical support and sustaining engineering for manufacturing operations.
• Technical support to purchasing for vendor or parts selection.
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar
• 5 years of experience with demonstrated technical knowledge of circuits and mechanical aspects of resistive products or instrument design.
• RF circuit design, troubleshoot and analysis to resolve problems and improve product quality and/functionality.
• Familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes, particularly Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and final assembly test.
• Good troubleshooting and "bench skills."
• Ability to use modern simulation tools for circuit and field analysis.
• Experience in Python for data analysis or test automation
• AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience is helpful.
