We are hiring a Product Engineer who will leverage their expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to fulfill and exceed customer requirements. This role involves enhancing the performance and design of new or existing products and supporting the team all the way through fabrication completion. Additionally, the Product Engineer will support sales efforts through accurate quoting and providing technical expertise to customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Functions:
· Design and modify new and existing parts to improve manufacturability, meet customer needs, and reduce production time.
· Create production bill of materials and shop routings
· Review/create CAD models and production prints to ensure accuracy
· Review quoting opportunities and support the sales team and customers with product expertise.
· Review contracts and supporting documents to ensure all information is accurately transferred to relevant groups (engineering, quality, production, etc.).
· Communicate with customers on technical matters, including design changes and issue resolution.
· Perform failure analysis and provide solutions based on findings.
· Collaborate with vendors to evaluate options and ensure optimal solutions for customers.
· Manage projects and provide engineering oversight during production; address questions and provide solutions as needed.
· Occasionally travel to customer sites to support sales and provide technical expertise.
· Establish standards and best practices.
· Oversee projects from design through to shipping.
Requirements
· BS in Engineering or equivalent education and experience, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
· Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering within a steel manufacturing environment; experience with ASME or AWS code work is a plus.
· Experience with stainless steel or nickel alloys is advantageous.
· Proven experience in product design and improvement.
· Strong knowledge of manufacturing practices such as forming, welding, and cutting.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
· Proficiency with technology, particularly ERP software, Microsoft Office, and 3D Modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
· Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing formulas, research, and reasoning to address complex issues.
· Ability to multitask with a strong attention to detail.
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple projects.
· Capable of working independently and within cross-functional teams.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of project management principles and their application.
· Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
· Training in Root Cause and Corrective Action is preferred.
· Interest in leadership development and career growth within the organization.
