We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide litigation and administrative support in a fast-paced, professional environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal and administrative support to the attorney.
- Draft, review, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Electronically file documents in Wisconsin state courts.
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring information is current and organized.
- Schedule and coordinate hearings, appointments, meetings, video conferences, and travel arrangements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, judicial clerks, and court personnel.
- Answer phones and direct inquiries as needed.
- Track and maintain continuing legal education (CLE) requirements for the attorney.
- Monitor deadlines and assist with case management to ensure timely completion of tasks.
What We're Looking For
- 2β5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in a litigation-focused law firm.
- Working knowledge of state court procedures and e-filing requirements.
- Experience communicating with opposing counsel, court staff, and judicial clerks.
- Proficiency with Clio, NetDocuments, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and perform well under pressure.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving abilities, and initiative.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently when needed.
