Summary
Performs maintenance on electrical components on production machinery and equipment. Carries out preventative maintenance duties to ensure machines and equipment remain operational and produce products to Company quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Interacts with production employees, QA and other maintenance personnel to improve and maximize plant output, efficiency, quality and safety.
- Utilizes process improvement techniques, tools and procedures.
- Interacts and monitors outside contractors.
- Maximizes performance of machinery. Troubleshoots equipment problems, makes change on all plant equipment.
- Reads blueprints and technical manuals.
- Assists with efficient equipment changes to accommodate production needs.
- Utilizes preventative maintenance program to maintain and prevent failure of equipment.
- Assists in with new machine installations, software updates and other projects.
- Assists in the development of related processes and procedures
- Preserves plant equipment through proper cleaning and maintaining.
- Assists with the training of new hires
- Records, documents and reports various data.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Physical Functions
- Frequently move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to transport oneself up and down slopes, inclines, steps and raised platforms.
- Ability visually assist equipment and production to identify maintenance needs and identify safety concerns.
- Ability to operate both powered and non-powered equipment.
- Capable of remaining in a stationary position for a long period of time.
- Ability to position and maneuver oneself alongside equipment and access equipment parts.
- Can reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop and stand consistently for long periods of time.
- Must be able to withstand working in all weather conditions.
- Be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors and Conditions
- Performs duties in and around moving mechanical parts.
- Performs duties in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant.
- Wet and humid conditions at times.
- High noise environment.
- Exposure to dust.
- May be subject to hazardous chemicals and fumes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Can comprehend procedures written in English.
- PLC knowledge.
- Able to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Power tool knowledge, Machine shop knowledge, Welding, Stick, Mig, Tig.
- OSHA training classes, safety training.
- Sound problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge and compliance to plant and industry safety and quality protocol, including but not limited to proper PPE, SDS, Lock-out/Tag-out, etc.
- Ability to multi-task
Qualifications
- 10 years of experienceHigh school diploman or equivalent.
- Level 1: 1 to 3 years of related experience
- Level 2: 4 to 6 years of related experience
- Level 3: 7 to 10 years of related experience.
