Process Technician, Blow Mold

Summary

Responsible for all aspects of the injection mold processes including; changing out molds, completing setups, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of injection mold equipment.

Essential Functions

• Trouble-shoots, diagnoses molding problems, offers solutions to prevent defective plastic parts.
• Sets up proper parameters for molding.
• Ensures plastic blow molding machines are functioning at top efficiency. 
• HDPE Material
• Trouble shoots molding processes, monitors part quality and makes adjustments to ensure molding of flawless plastic parts                     
• Monitors day to day operation of blow molding machine & downstream equipment.
• Performs mold and tooling changes.
• Maintains product quality by inspection and quality checks to verify specifications.
• Performs preventative maintenance.
• Documents corrective actions using SAP program.
• Records quality checks using SPC program.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Functions

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to transport oneself up and down inclines, slopes, steps and platforms.
• Ability to maneuver around operating equipment and machinery.
• Ability to operate powered and non-powered tools, equipment, production machinery and office machinery.
• Ability to reach within hand and arm length and position oneself to operate/inspect equipment and product.
• Be able to work in confined spaces.

Physical Demands / Environmental Factors and Conditions

• Some tasks and responsibilities require working in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant. – (exposure to disagreeable conditions typical to a manufacturing plant.)
• When in the plant Personal Protective Equipment includes but is not limited to: safety footwear, eye, head, hearing and hand protection.
• Performs duties in and around moving mechanical parts.
• Performs duties in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant.
• Wet and humid conditions at times.
• High noise environment.
• Exposure to dust.
• May be subject to hazardous chemicals and fumes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a plastic blow molding industrial environment
• 4-year Degree in related fields.
• Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
• Manufacturing Industry knowledge required
