Human Resources Assistant
Leading Commercial Concrete Construction Company serving the greater Baltimore, Western Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC areas is seeking to hire a full-time Human Resources Assistant to support the Human Resources Department at our Owings Mills, MD Headquarters location.
Job Responsibilities:
· Maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
· Conducts or assists with new hire onboarding process.
· Assists with processing terminations.
· Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· Assists in managing insurance enrollments and employee eligibility as well as informing employees of their benefit options and plans.
· Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
· Assists department in carrying out various administrative duties and human resources functions as needed.
· Prepares monthly correspondence.
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Required skills or qualifications:
· Associate’s degree in related field.
· Bilingual (Spanish) capabilities.
· At least 2 years of experience in HR.
· Detailed-oriented.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
· Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office products, including
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn ADP Workforce Now or similar computer applications.
