- Plan, organize, and conduct daily volleyball practices and drills to enhance players' skills and teamwork.
- Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions, ensuring athletes understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and player progress.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and games.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to promote the volleyball program and enhance student engagement.
- Attend all scheduled games and events, providing support and leadership during competitions.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or a strong background in volleyball, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
- Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with middle school students.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain certification before the season starts.
- Availability for the entire volleyball season, including practices, games, and possible tournaments.
- A commitment to promoting academic success alongside athletic achievement.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
