JV Volleyball Head Coach

Summary
The Schoolcraft JR/SR High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Junior Varsity Volleyball program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching skills, a deep understanding of the game, and the ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. This seasonal position requires a commitment to fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among players while ensuring a positive and competitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans that enhance individual and team skills, focusing on technique, strategy, and game play.
• Organize and conduct tryouts, selecting team members based on skill, attitude, and potential for growth.
• Provide ongoing instruction and feedback to players during practices and games to promote improvement.
• Cultivate a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, commitment, and sportsmanship.
• Collaborate with the athletic director and other coaching staff to align program goals and objectives.
• Schedule and coordinate games, practices, and team events, ensuring effective communication with players and parents.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to school policies and regulations.
• Analyze game performance and implement adjustments to improve team strategy and execution.
• Serve as a role model for student-athletes, demonstrating ethical behavior and integrity in all interactions.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
• First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
• Availability to attend all practices, games, and team events throughout the season.
• A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Background check clearance in accordance with school district policies.
