- Prepare the team for competitions, including scheduling meets and managing logistics.
- Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among team members.
- Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all school, league, and state regulations regarding athletics.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to support the overall athletic program.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level, or a strong background in cross country or distance running.
- Knowledge of cross country training techniques, race strategies, and athlete development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive team culture.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Availability to attend practices and competitions during the designated season.
- Background check clearance as required by the school district.
