The District Administration Center is located in Sterling, CO (Logan County) in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River. Building Maintenance & Custodial Services
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other school facilities.
- Perform daily, weekly, and seasonal cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting.
- Monitor building conditions and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Ensure all custodial equipment is properly maintained and safely operated.
- Serve as the lead custodian for the building.
- Assist in assigning and coordinating work schedules and duties of custodial staff as directed.
- Train and support custodial staff on proper cleaning procedures and safety practices.
- Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and submit requests for replenishment.
- Open and secure the building according to district procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities for safety hazards.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Maintain compliance with district safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Assist with snow removal, ice mitigation, and grounds upkeep.
- Prepare facilities for school events, athletic activities, meetings, and community use.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment as needed.
- Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and community members.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical labor.
- Knowledge of custodial methods, equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Previous custodial or facilities maintenance experience.
- Experience supervising or leading staff.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general maintenance repairs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and climbing.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
