Production Supervisor, Print & Mail Operations (3rd Shift)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead overnight operations in a fast-paced digital print and mail production environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing production staff, ensuring quality standards, meeting production deadlines, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing or print production, proven supervisory experience, and a passion for leading teams to exceed operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead daily production operations during the overnight shift.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
• Manage workflow, staffing, productivity, quality, and equipment utilization.
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team of production employees.
• Conduct performance coaching, documentation, and employee evaluations.
• Address attendance, productivity, quality, and performance concerns.
• Collaborate with other departments and shifts to ensure seamless production.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures.
• Promote continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing management background or equivalent leadership experience.
• 5 years of supervisory experience managing 15 or more employees in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S methodologies.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or banking.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently during overnight operations.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in the print and mail production industry.
• Knowledge of postal regulations.
• Experience with digital printing and inserting equipment.
• Experience operating Xerox, Canon, and ColorStream 3900 printing systems.
• G7 Color Management experience.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced manufacturing and production facility.
• Overnight shift leadership role.
• Supervisors are expected to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled shift.
• January is the company's busiest production period and typically requires extended hours, overtime, and weekend work.
• Standing, walking, and working around production equipment throughout the shift.
