REPORTS TO: Electrical Supervisor

FLSA: Hourly

PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:

Adequately perform major and basic electrical installations, retrofits, circuit modifications and repair work on all equipment associated with SCH Services LLC handling facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Know and practice established safety rules and regulations. Follow the lock-out/tag-out procedures.

2. Interpret and utilize electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer’s specifications in the performance of all routine maintenance, emergency repair and preventive maintenance work.

3. Repair, service, and install various electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control systems, AC/DC motors, low and medium voltage distribution systems including transformers, motor control centers and switch gears.

4. Complete reports and maintain records as required.

5. Demonstrate and maintain behaviors that proactively support safe work practices while recognizing and communicating conditions of potential risk.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Read and Modify PLC logic and be able to program AC & DC drives.

2. Call out duties, rotating shift work and overtime required.

3. Lead assigned craft personnel to perform specific tasks.

4. Maintain and utilize all special tools and equipment.

5. Know, understand, and communicate electrical terminology.

6. Teach Newer classification personnel at times.

7. Assist and lead safety meetings.

8. Report repairs results to Operations supervisors and electrical supervisor while on shift or task completed.

9. Subject to call out and overtime as necessary to support equipment outage.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver license, MSHA electrical card is a plus, but not necessary, individual will need to pass the MSHA electrical certification classes, company will provide class if and when available.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

High School education or equivalent required. Appropriate technical training. Will consider with 3 to 5 years of verified experience.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Lift - Must be able to lift 50 to 80 lbs at rare times. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Climb - Able to climb vertical ladders and stairways, on various loading and unloading equipment, up to 100’ heights. At times required to carry tool bag, components, and various items. Structural climbing required.

Heights - Able to work on equipment in high areas or from structures by use of a safety harness, work in high places with manlifts, out of manbaskets with cranes or cherrypickers.

Vision - Corrected to 20/40 with normal depth perception, normal peripheral vision, and normal night vision. Must be able to distinguish color-codes.

Reach - Must be able to extend both arms fully throughout a normal range of motion in both horizontal and vertical planes. Must be able to twist, turn, bend over, pull ropes, and have good balance.

Agility - Must be able to walk and keep balance on moving vessels, work in high places with the ability to move quickly and maneuver on uneven, slippery or wet surfaces.

Speech - Must be able to communicate in English with all personnel using plant radios.

Hearing - Normal hearing to recognize and respond to verbal directions, unusual noises in equipment and equipment alarms.

Reading - Compare and comprehend data.

Walk - Must be able to walk and bend down to crawl in and out of hoppers.

Kneeling - Must be able to kneel for extended periods of time.

Step/Jump - Must be able to step or jump a minimum of two feet horizontal and vertical to gain access to barges, docks,

or boats.

Crawl - Must be able to crawl, lower himself, or herself and descend vertically.

Grip/Hold/Pull -Must be able to grip, hold and pull not less than 60 pounds. An electrician is required to move cables, switchgears, pumps, etc. in the course of his duties.

Schedule - Must be able to work a rotating day/night shift.
