Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the President, Design Director, and Sales team to help develop seasonal assortments across branded, licensed, and private label product categories
- Influence assortment direction, product strategy, and seasonal line development based on market trends, customer needs, and business objectives
- Identify emerging trends, silhouettes, colors, prints, and category opportunities relevant to boys’ and girls’ newborn, infant, toddler, and kids product
- Support the development of trend-right assortments for mass merchants, department stores, specialty retailers, and off-price channels
- Prepare materials and presentations for seasonal design reviews, fabric meetings, assortment discussions, and cross-functional team meetings
- Partner closely with Design and Sourcing teams to ensure fabrics, constructions, and body styles align with margin, costing, and retailer requirements
- Monitor industry trends and evaluate competitive landscape through regular online and in-store market research
- Conduct competitive shopping and pricing analysis to identify white space opportunities, emerging trends, and assortment opportunities
- Track competitive pricing, promotions, and product positioning to help support business strategy and assortment decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Design, Production, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Maintain strong awareness of retailer trends, consumer preferences, and market shifts within the children’s apparel industry
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment through strong communication and ownership of responsibilities
- 3–7 years of merchandising, product development, or apparel experience preferred
- Experience within children’s apparel, licensed product, or consumer goods industries strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of trend analysis, assortment planning, and the retail marketplace
- Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into commercially viable product assortments
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience conducting competitive shopping and market analysis
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
