Overview
We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow operator to efficiently manage snow removal operations during winter months. This role requires a dedicated individual capable of operating snow plowing equipment safely and effectively, ensuring clear and accessible pathways for residents and businesses. The ideal candidate will have a background in equipment operation, landscaping, and maintenance, with the ability to work in challenging weather conditions. Prior experience with mechanical tools, power tools, and landscape maintenance is highly desirable to ensure optimal performance in this vital role.
This is a seasonal part time position.
Responsibilities
- Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to clear snow from roads, driveways, parking lots, and walkways
- Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Apply salt or de-icing materials as needed to prevent ice formation and improve safety
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of plowing equipment after each shift
- Shovel walkways/sidewalks
- Conduct minor repairs or report issues requiring professional servicing to ensure continuous operational readiness
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or damage during snow removal operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping, lawn care and construction equipment is preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, excavators, and other construction or horticultural equipment is advantageous
- Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to perform routine equipment inspections
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or tree care will be considered an asset
