Responsibilities
- Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from roads, driveways, parking lots, and walkways
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of snow removal machinery to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Apply salt or de-icing materials as needed to enhance traction and safety on surfaces
- Monitor weather conditions continuously to determine the most effective snow removal strategies
- Perform routine maintenance on plowing equipment, including the use of hand tools and power tools for minor repairs
- Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding operational status or hazards encountered during shifts
- Assist with other landscaping or maintenance tasks such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, tree trimming, or gardening when weather permits
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy machinery such as snow plows, excavators, or other construction equipment is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and minor repairs is advantageous
- Familiarity with landscaping practices including mowing, horticulture, irrigation systems, hardscape installation, and tree care is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety protocols and operational procedures to prevent accidents or equipment damage
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
