Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of patient care, particularly for those with dementia, or Alzheimer’s. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.
Shift Details
- 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
- 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
- Shift rotation
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being
- Maintain cleanliness in the living environment, including light housekeeping tasks
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Administer medications as per care plans and assist with vital sign monitoring
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to client dietary needs
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel
- Uphold HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus
- Familiarity with memory care practices and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life
- Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
