Plant Accountant

🔹 Position: Plant Accountant

📍 Location: Corsicana, TX

💼 Job Type: Full-Time

💰 Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Track and review manufacturing spending and recommend accruals/reclassification entries.
• Prepare COGS forecasts, including standard costs, PPV, and manufacturing variances.
• Investigate and explain financial variances to plant leadership.
• Prepare monthly plant financial reports and provide variance explanations.
• Manage inventory accuracy, reconciliations, and financial impact analysis.
• Perform cost runs and validate product costing in collaboration with Engineering.
• Analyze production and purchase price variances.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations during month-end close.
• Support quarterly and annual audits and maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX controls, and company policies.
• Review trade and intercompany revenue and COGS and help ensure intercompany balances are accurate.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Calculate labor and overhead rates.
• Partner with plant leadership on financial insights, operational efficiency, and cost improvement initiatives.
• Support Corporate requests, including government surveys and tax-related data requests.

🔹 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong SAP experience, particularly with GL, Costing, Procurement, and Inventory.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and variance-analysis skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to identify errors/inconsistencies and take appropriate action.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime when required for month-end close, budgeting, or special projects.
• Minimal travel required (<5%).
