In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, preparing ingredients, and supporting the overall food service operations. Restaurant experience is a plus, but not essential. Bring your passion and work ethic and we will train you.
Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.
- Prepare food ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning to support chefs and kitchen staff.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a hygienic environment.
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes safely while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques.
- Support kitchen staff with basic food handling tasks, including organizing supplies and restocking stations as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste according to sanitation protocols.
Skills
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances safely.
- Experience with food service environments including restaurants, catering events, hotels or banquet settings is preferred.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrated commitment to food safety management practices and sanitation procedures.
- Previous experience in hospitality or culinary roles that involve food handling or kitchen support is desirable but not essential. We're happy to train.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
