EHS Manager – MSHA Construction Project

Location: Laramie, Wyoming

Compensation: $40.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience

Per Diem: Potentially available for qualified non-local candidates

Project: Industrial insulation work at an active concrete manufacturing facility


Position Summary

SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to support an industrial insulation project at an active MSHA-regulated concrete plant in Laramie, Wyoming.


The EHS Manager will provide daily safety leadership, oversee regulatory and site-specific compliance, and work directly with project management, field supervision, employees, subcontractors, and plant representatives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on MSHA-regulated sites and supporting insulation, industrial construction, maintenance, or similar high-risk operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full-time, on-site EHS oversight for industrial insulation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable MSHA requirements, company policies, client procedures, and site-specific safety expectations.
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Review and assist with Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task plans, permits, and safe work procedures.
  • Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and other required training.
  • Monitor work involving scaffolding, aerial lifts, ladders, fall protection, material handling, respiratory protection, and elevated work areas.
  • Verify employees have the required training, certifications, personal protective equipment, and site credentials.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel regarding site hazards, traffic controls, production activities, emergency procedures, and simultaneous operations.
  • Participate in incident, injury, near-miss, and property-damage investigations.
  • Complete safety reports, inspection documentation, corrective-action tracking, and project safety records.
  • Support emergency response planning and communicate incidents promptly to project and company leadership.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when an imminent hazard or serious safety concern is identified.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through consistent field engagement and coaching.


Required Qualifications

  • At least five years of construction or industrial safety experience.
  • Previous experience supporting work at an MSHA-regulated facility.
  • Knowledge of industrial insulation, construction, plant maintenance, or similar operations.
  • Working knowledge of fall protection, scaffolding, aerial lifts, respiratory protection, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and mobile equipment hazards.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification.
  • MSHA training appropriate to the site, such as Part 46 or Part 48, or the ability to complete required training before mobilization.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and field-leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally coordinate with client and plant representatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety-reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST, STSC, CSP, OHST, or similar safety credential.
  • OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 certification.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Experience with insulation, scaffolding, concrete manufacturing, mining, aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Experience managing respiratory protection and exposure-control requirements.


Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors and inside an active industrial facility in changing weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to walk uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when applicable.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or adjusted shifts based on project needs.


Compensation

The position pays $40.00–$50.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and MSHA knowledge. Per diem may be available for qualified candidates who live outside the local commuting area.
