Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Immediate Need | Yuma, Arizona


SAVI EHS is actively seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to provide night shift safety leadership on a large-scale construction project in Yuma, Arizona.


This individual will serve as a key EHS leader working directly with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations. The EHS Manager will be responsible for maintaining a strong field presence, identifying and correcting hazards, overseeing contractor safety performance, and ensuring consistent safety standards throughout construction activities.

Compensation

  • $45.00–$50.00 per hour
  • Full-Time W-2 Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide EHS leadership and oversight for all assigned night shift construction operations.
  • Maintain a strong and consistent field presence throughout the shift.
  • Conduct daily/nightly safety inspections, audits, and field observations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and work practices and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Monitor subcontractors and trade partners for compliance with project-specific safety requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Review and participate in Daily Hazard Analyses (DHAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task plans, and high-risk activity planning.
  • Coordinate with project superintendents, managers, and field leadership regarding upcoming work activities and associated safety risks.
  • Provide oversight of high-risk activities, including working from heights, material handling, electrical work, lifting operations, and other construction-related hazards.
  • Conduct or support site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
  • Communicate safety expectations effectively with a diverse workforce; bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are highly preferred.
  • Lead or assist with incident, near-miss, and property-damage investigations and ensure corrective actions are properly documented and completed.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection records, training records, observations, and compliance reports.
  • Communicate significant safety issues, incidents, and operational concerns to project leadership and day-shift EHS management.
  • Support effective day-shift/night-shift turnover to ensure safety concerns, open corrective actions, and upcoming high-risk activities are properly communicated.
  • Exercise appropriate stop-work authority when an imminent danger or serious safety concern is identified.
  • Promote accountability and a proactive safety culture across all night shift operations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of construction EHS experience required.
  • Previous experience serving in an EHS Manager, Safety Manager, or equivalent site safety leadership role strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 510 certification required.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting field inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training.
  • Experience managing subcontractor and trade partner safety performance.
  • Ability to independently manage EHS responsibilities during night shift operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems.
  • Must be willing and able to work the required night shift schedule.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate safety expectations, conduct field discussions, and provide safety guidance to both English- and Spanish-speaking trade partners.
  • Data Center, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Large Commercial Construction experience.
  • Previous experience overseeing safety operations on large, complex, multi-trade construction projects.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • CHST, STS-C, ASP, GSP, or other BCSP credentials preferred.
  • Experience with contractor safety management, orientations, incident investigations, and high-risk construction activities.
