Safety Coordinator – Gainesville, VA

SAVI EHS is actively seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support an active construction project in Gainesville, Virginia. This individual will work closely with project leadership, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to support daily safety operations and maintain compliance with project-specific and OSHA safety requirements.
This is an on-site, local-only opportunity. Per diem, housing, and travel reimbursement are not available for this position.

Key Responsibilities
- Support daily Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the construction site.
- Conduct routine field safety inspections, audits, and observations.
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and work with field supervision to ensure timely corrective action.
- Monitor subcontractors and trade partners for compliance with project safety requirements.
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Daily Hazard Analyses (DHAs), pre-task planning, and safety meetings.
- Assist with new-hire and site-specific safety orientations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and support ongoing safety training.
- Monitor work involving fall protection, ladders, scaffolding, material handling, mobile equipment, electrical hazards, and other construction-related exposures.
- Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective-action follow-up.
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, training records, observations, and compliance reports.
- Communicate safety concerns to project leadership and field supervision.
- Maintain a consistent field presence and help promote a proactive safety culture across the project.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of construction safety experience preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Experience conducting field safety inspections and identifying construction hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with superintendents, subcontractors, trade partners, and project leadership.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting the project's overall EHS program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Gainesville, VA for the duration of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data Center, Commercial, Industrial, or Mission-Critical construction experience.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
- OSHA 510 certification is a plus.
- Experience with subcontractor safety management, orientations, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
