What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Manager position at Savage Surplus?
Savage Surplus, a fast-growing tools and home goods store, is seeking an Inventory Manager to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the receiving, processing and tracking of all inventory in our busy warehouse. NOTE: This job requires forklift experience and inventory management experience.
What You Will Do
- Unload truck using a forklift and coordinate other forklift drivers
- Properly inspect and sort received inventory by category
- Perform or coordinate the testing of any received equipment and its preparation for sale
- Move the received inventory to the appropriate department in a quick, safe and efficient manner
- Keep track of the inventory on hand and manage the schedule of inbound trucks
Your Skills and Knowledge
- Experience with forklift operation is a must
- Experience with organizing and tracking of inventory is also a must
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- The ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Team-oriented and goal-oriented personality
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work Saturdays
