What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auction Associate position at Savage Surplus?
Savage Surplus, a fast-growing tools and home goods store, is seeking a Live Auction Associate to join our team. In this role you will be tracking and processing inventory for auctions and assisting with our live auction shows either on Whatnot or K-Bid.
What You Will Do
- Receive, label, count and track incoming inventory for our live auction business
- Maintain an online database of items for each auction, including product pictures, descriptions, pricing and other relevant information
- Collaborate with the host on live auctions: preparing the studio for the show, live-modding, labeling incoming orders, and assisting with cleanup afterwards
- Schedule live shows, add giveaways, and write pertinent show notes
- Assist with picking and shipping of auction orders as needed
- Move, store and keep the physical inventory organized in the assigned part of the warehouse
Your Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- The ability to work efficiently and multitask during fast-paced live auctions
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- The ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- The ability to operate dollies, pallet jacks and carts. Experience operating a forklift is a plus (but not required).
- Team-oriented and goal-oriented personality
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work occasional evenings
