Position Overview

We’re looking for a Demand & Inventory Planning Manager to own demand forecasting across our marketplace channels and support inventory optimization across a complex, multi-tier supply chain. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for a planner with a few years in the forecasting and replenishment cycle who is ready to own the number.

You’ll build and maintain SKU-level forecasts, set and tune safety stock and reorder parameters, drive replenishment recommendations, and track forecast accuracy — then partner with buying, logistics, and marketplace teams to turn those plans into inventory that’s in the right place at the right time. The role leans demand planning first, with a strong supporting hand in inventory optimization, and works daily in Slimstock alongside our ERP and marketplace platforms.

What You’ll Do

Demand Forecasting & Planning

• Build, maintain, and continuously improve SKU-level demand forecasts in Slimstock using historical sales, seasonality, promotions, and marketplace trends
• Track forecast accuracy (MAPE, bias) by category and channel; identify root causes of misses and adjust models and inputs accordingly
• Develop demand scenarios for new product launches, seasonal builds, and promotional events
• Translate sales plans and growth targets into usable demand inputs for purchasing and production

Inventory Optimization & Replenishment

• Set and tune safety stock levels, reorder points, and weeks-of-supply targets across all stages of our network — from overseas manufacturing through staging, receipt, and final distribution points
• Drive replenishment recommendations that balance stock-out risk, holding cost, and storage constraints
• Monitor fill rates, inventory turns, aged and excess inventory, Amazon IPI scores, and FBA storage utilization — and act before problems hit operations
• Help configure and refine Slimstock parameters so the system reflects real lead times, multi-tier flows, and business constraints

Reporting & Analysis

• Build and maintain Excel-based analyses and reporting on forecast performance, inventory health, and replenishment status
• Maintain data accuracy and synchronization across NetSuite, Slimstock, SellerCloud, and marketplace platforms
• Present findings and recommendations to planning and supply chain leadership with clear, data-backed reasoning

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with buying and sourcing on purchase order timing, quantities, and vendor lead times
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse operations on container scheduling, receipts, and inventory transfers
• Work with marketplace teams to align inventory positioning with channel strategy and promotional calendars

What You Need

Must-Haves

• 3–5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, replenishment, or supply chain analysis
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain Management, Business, Analytics, Operations, Finance, or related field); an Associate’s degree plus relevant experience will also be considered
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining demand forecasts and owning forecast accuracy
• Working knowledge of safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and stock-out/overstock trade-offs
• Advanced Excel skills — formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data modeling
• Experience with a demand planning or inventory optimization system (Slimstock highly preferred; or similar tools such as NetSuite planning, SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, or Logility)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain your numbers and defend your recommendations
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work on-site daily

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience planning for e-commerce marketplaces (Amazon FBA, Walmart, Target) including IPI and storage-limit management
• Experience with an ERP or order management system (NetSuite, SellerCloud, or similar)
• Experience planning around overseas manufacturing and import lead times
• SQL or Power BI experience
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Prior experience in home goods, textiles, or consumer products

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $85,000 – $105,000 per year (based on experience and skill set). This is an exempt, salaried position.

Location & Requirements

This position is 100% on-site at our Forest Lake/Columbus, Minnesota headquarters. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with some flexibility based on business needs. Occasional early morning calls with overseas vendors may be required.
