Technology Support Technician
Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Employment Type: Full-Time- On-site (This is not a remote position), Hourly
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
The Technology Support Technician provides front-line technical support for staff and students across the district. This entry-level role focuses on troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting classroom technology, and maintaining district-issued devices, including Chromebooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Provide technical support for computers, Chromebooks, and classroom technology
- Perform basic hardware repairs, with a focus on Chromebook maintenance
- Set up, configure, and deploy new devices and equipment
- Assist with inventory tracking and asset management
- Support users with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar) and basic software applications
- Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues
- Communicate clearly with staff regarding ticket status and issue resolution
- Provide basic training and guidance to staff on technology use as needed
Assist the IT Director with projects and other assigned tasks
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field, or
- High school diploma with 3 years technical experience
Ability to travel between district buildings as needed; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Google Workspace for Education
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and iOS devices
- CompTIA A certification or equivalent experience
Experience working in a school or educational environment

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, and access equipment stored at various heights
- Comfortable working on ladders and at moderate heights for equipment installation and maintenance
