Essential Job Functions
- Audit the company’s safety policies and programs.
- Review compliance with policies and procedures at job sites.
- Conduct walkthrough inspections at project sites with project personnel.
- Assist in the Coordination of insurance and employee medical treatment. Manage workers’ compensation programs and coordinate insurance claims.
- Communicate lessons learned from near misses, accidents, and incidents.
- Conduct safety training for employees.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and superintendents.
- Recommend modifications to policies and procedures as needed to reduce the occurrence of these events.
- Conduct reviews of sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agency standards and company policies.
- Monitor subcontractor’s safety performance.
- Assist in the presentations to employees and subcontractors for safety-related meetings and presentations.
- Assist in the tracking and trend of near misses, first aid injuries, incidents, accidents, and recordable injuries.
- Foster a culture of safety by supporting best practices and regulatory requirements at the state, federal, and local levels, as well as contractual obligations in collaboration with S&P operational leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Occasional heavy lifting (20 lbs./13.6 kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.).
- The job is performed indoors in a construction office and at job sites (indoors and outside). Protective safety gear (e.g., hard hat, glasses, etc.) is required while on-site; activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather, if needed; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Bilingual preferred
- OSHA 30 certification is strongly preferred.
