EHS Specialist – Pipeline Construction

Job Summary
RSS is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist with pipeline construction experience to support active and upcoming projects. This role requires a strong field presence, the ability to enforce safety standards, and experience working within pipeline ROW and HDD environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site EHS oversight for pipeline construction activities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and client-specific safety requirements
- Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Daily safety meetings / tailgates
- Site inspections and audits
- Excavation and trenching
- HDD operations
- Lifting and rigging
- Equipment movement and line crossings
- Serve as liaison between crew, contractor, and client safety teams
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions in real time
- Maintain accurate daily reports and safety documentation
- Support and/or coordinate incident investigations and reporting
- Assist with Operator Qualification (OQ) verification and compliance when required
Experience
- 3 years of pipeline construction safety experience (REQUIRED)
- Pipeline ROW operations
- HDD and/or utility installation
- Heavy equipment operations
- OSHA standards (1926 preferred)
- DOT pipeline safety regulations
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficient with basic reporting (daily logs, incident reports, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST, OHST, or similar certification
- NCCER credentials or OQ experience
- Previous experience as a third-party safety representative
- Experience working with major pipeline contractors or operators
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Capable of walking long distances on pipeline ROW
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Pay: $2,400.00 per week
Work Location: In person
