Essential Job Functions
- Ensure compliance and operational excellence in the following areas: contract review, estimating, business unit turnover coordination, risk management, and performance.
- Support project bidding, including reviewing bid requirements, assisting with Bid Team assignments, reviewing scope coverage, assisting in Bid Schedule development, and assisting in creating General Conditions budget.
- Participate in successful project buyout.
- Accountable for ongoing safety on jobsites and review and mitigate accident trends; enforce course corrections to ensure safety, quality, profitable, and on-time results.
- Visit each project site on a regular basis to remain updated on construction activities.
- Provide feedback to Estimating/Pre-Construction on projects and for use in future bidding or negotiations.
- Elevate and participate in all legal matters.
- Participate in the recruiting, training, reviewing and supervision of project personnel and contribute to the selection, training, and development for key positions.
- Create learning and development partnerships with team members to aid career growth.
- Assist with the creation of cross-functional teams & group project plans for a solution-oriented environment.
- Conduct crucial conversations regarding employee performance and development.
- Maintain and expand existing account and client relationships; be the “owner” of each new and existing account assigned, and the client’s main point of contact.
- Contribute to Business Unit Leader and Business Development Manager’s process in identifying new account and project opportunities by market sector and geography; share in developing Account Plans accordingly.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal and presentation development. Work closely with the Business Development Manager and Marketing team to write appropriate narratives and to review deliverables.
- Partner regularly with Business Development to participate in and attend networking and industry/client events; participate in client entertainment activities as appropriate.
- Participate in the review and management of the assigned project development plans & budgets.
- Work closely with the Business Unit Leader to monitor process management compliance with reporting related to corporate policy and the contract documents.
- Work with Business Development Manager to develop Individual Project Pursuit Plans.
- Actively cultivate and maintain a “sales culture” on an everyday basis.
- Perform duties as assigned
- B.A. or B.S.in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, or equivalent experience
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in managing construction projects with a thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures
- Certified Project Management Professional preferred
- Occasional heavy lifting (20 lbs./13.6 kg) can occur, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.).
- The job is performed indoors in a construction office and at job sites (indoors and outside). Protect/safety gear (e.g. hard hat, glasses, etc.) is required while onsite. Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather, if needed; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
