Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician to support our Accounting Manager with day-to-day accounting operations. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone starting their accounting career and looking to gain hands-on experience in the architecture and construction industry. The role focuses on data entry, transaction processing, and general accounting support using QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting tasks including data entry and transaction processing in QuickBooks
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, coding, and payment preparation
- Assist with accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections support, and payment application
- Enter and maintain job cost data for construction and design projects
- Reconcile credit card transactions and assist with bank reconciliations
- Maintain organized digital and physical accounting records
- Support payroll processing by entering hours and job cost allocations (as needed)
- Assist with month-end close tasks and reporting preparation
- Respond to internal requests from project managers and administrative staff
- Perform other administrative and accounting support tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or currently pursuing)
- 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships welcome)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (AP, AR, debits/credits)
- Experience with QuickBooks or strong willingness to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic office software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
