Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the execution of high-end residential and select high-end commercial construction projects throughout California. This role is responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring exceptional quality, schedule adherence, budget control, and client satisfaction.
This position focuses exclusively on the construction phase and works in collaboration with internal design teams, consultants, and trade partners to deliver refined, architecturally driven projects to the highest standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution
- Manage all phases of construction, from pre-construction planning through final completion and turnover
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure work is executed in accordance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and California building codes
- Coordinate construction activities with internal teams, consultants, inspectors, and third-party vendors
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Review subcontractor bids, scopes, contracts, and change orders
- Monitor costs and proactively identify potential overruns and cost-saving opportunities
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment applications
Quality Control
- Uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship and finish quality expected in luxury residential and high-end commercial construction
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Address deficiencies promptly and ensure corrective action is taken
Scheduling & Coordination
- Create and manage master schedules and trade coordination schedules
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and weekly progress meetings
- Anticipate long-lead items and coordinate procurement to avoid schedule delays
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during construction
- Provide clear, timely project updates and manage expectations
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and consultants
Risk Management & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite
Project Close-Out
- Manage punch lists, inspections, and final approvals
- Coordinate final documentation, warranties, and as-built drawings
- Ensure smooth project handoff and client satisfaction at project completion
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, preferably with high-end residential and/or luxury commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of California building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices
- Proven experience managing complex projects with high design and finish standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Primavera, or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid California driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a design-build environment
- Background in luxury custom homes, estate residences, or architecturally significant commercial projects
- Familiarity with LEED, sustainability practices, or high-performance building systems
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
