GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Product Manager position is a critical leader responsible for contributing to strategic priorities for our Vision Insurance, driving the successful execution of initiatives that advance our growing vision insurance business.

Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Experience & Product Strategy, this role drives operational execution, product strategy, and cross-functional alignment to accelerate vision product growth, adoption, and member satisfaction.

This position oversees the end-to-end product lifecycle. Serves as a key sales consultant to identify key sales opportunities, coach sales teams and translate market intelligence into actionable product and go to market strategies. The Senior Product Manager ensures seamless experiences across the member, employer, and broker journey, manages cross-functional execution with internal teams, external partners, and sales channels for successful implementations of vision initiatives on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.

This position will be with Stratacor, an affiliate of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the implementation of new and enhanced vision insurance products from strategy through launch, ensuring operational readiness and stakeholder alignment
  • Manage cross-functional initiative execution across product, operations, compliance, marketing, sales, and vendor teams
  • Develop and manage delivery timelines, resource plans, status reporting, and risk mitigation strategies for key initiatives
  • Serve as a key liaison between business teams and stakeholders, translating strategy into executable plans
  • Monitor product key measures post-launch; identify improvement opportunities and lead iteration efforts
  • Support intake and prioritization of product enhancement requests; manage backlog, scoping, and roadmap alignment
  • Collaborate with external vendors and strategic partners to support product delivery
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), issues resolution, and post-launch quality assessments
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and influence across cross-functional teams, mentoring peers and stakeholders, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Discern vision sales opportunities within the existing client base, and collaborate with sales team to pursue and close new business opportunities
  • Participate with sales and account management teams in sales activities, including development of requests-for-proposals (RFPs), sales presentations, and client meetings
  • Serve as a vision subject matter expert, providing real-time recommendations, prospect-specific sales strategies, and market insights to drive growth
  • Diagnose training needs for sales and account management teams, and deliver targeted training and coaching to enhance product and market fluency
  • Provide ongoing membership forecasts, pipeline analyses, and opportunity reporting in support of leadership forums, strategic planning, and budgeting processes
  • Act as a voice of the market, sharing feedback and insights related to pricing, product development, competitive dynamics, contracts, brokers, and emerging opportunities across internal teams

Required:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Healthcare Insurance Expertise: Strong knowledge of healthcare insurance products, including benefits structure, operational workflows, regulatory context, and customer needs
  • Product Lifecycle Execution: Proven ability to manage a full insurance or similar product lifecycle from concept to launch to ongoing optimization
  • Healthcare & Insurance Operations: Understanding of insurance systems and processes (claims, enrollment, eligibility, billing) and how they connect to product delivery
  • Cross-Functional Project Management: Experience coordinating work across departments (operations, marketing, compliance, sales, vendors) to deliver successful outcomes
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities shift and initiatives must move quickly
  • Customer-Centered Mindset: Committed to enhancing the member, broker, and employer experience through thoughtful, user-informed product management
  • Team Collaboration & Influence: Able to build strong working relationships across departments and drive alignment through collaboration and clarity
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting
  • Strong project leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

  • Process Improvement & Operational Excellence: Skilled at identifying workflow inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and implementing repeatable processes for delivery and performance tracking
  • Analytical Thinking & Data Literacy: Ability to use metrics and operational performance data to inform enhancements and issue resolution
  • Communication & Stakeholder Alignment: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to create executive summaries, status reports, and launch documentation
  • Execution-Oriented Leadership: Strong ability to take strategic plans and drive them to successful completion, including scope definition, resource planning, task management, and quality assurance
  • Detail Orientation with Big-Picture Awareness: Able to manage operational details without losing sight of broader product and customer experience goals
  • Knowledge and familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks in health insurance industry

Required:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Marketing, or related field; and/or equivalent work experience
  • Six (6) years of experience in product management and/or a related role in the healthcare insurance, or employee benefits field
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience managing teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives

Preferred:

  • Active Health Insurance Licenses

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Weight Lifting Requirements: up to 30 lbs.
  • Sedentary Work: Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Reports To: Vice President of Digital Experience & Product Strategy
  • Directly Manages: None
  • Internal Relationships: Extensive interaction with all Company departments and team members, including management and executive positions
  • External Relationships: Strategic and Distribution Partners, Brokers, Vendors, and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)

The starting salary range for this position is $117,000 to $146,000. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. The Company takes into consideration a candidate's education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including merit process and internal pay alignment when determining the salary for potential new team members. In compliance with state and federal regulations, a potential new team member's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
