JOB SUMMARY:
Are you an aspiring healthcare leader with a passion for serving older adults and building exceptional teams? As an Administrator in Training (AIT), you'll gain hands-on experience in every aspect of Residential Care Facility operations while preparing for a leadership career in Community Based Care.
Working alongside experienced leaders, you'll develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to successfully lead a licensed community. Through mentorship, operational training, and real-world leadership experience, you'll learn how to create an environment where residents receive exceptional care, employees thrive, and families feel supported.

- Participate in all aspects of Residential Care Facility operations through a structured Administrator in Training program.
- Develop an understanding of Oregon Residential Care Facility regulations, licensing requirements, and operational standards.
- Gain experience in financial management, budgeting, occupancy, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
- Learn how each department contributes to an exceptional resident experience.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Observe and develop leadership techniques that foster accountability, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, and employee development initiatives.
- Learn how to build a positive workplace culture focused on compassion and service.
- Help create a warm, welcoming environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect.
- Support resident satisfaction initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to promote person-centered care.
- Participate in leadership meetings and operational planning.
- Assist with regulatory surveys, audits, and quality assurance activities.
- Complete assigned training objectives and demonstrate increasing independence throughout the program.
- Seek opportunities to improve processes while supporting Sapphire's mission and values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Gerontology, Human Services, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies for
- Oregon's Administrator in Training program.
- Ability to meet Oregon Residential Care Facility Administrator in Training requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership potential with a desire to build a career in senior living.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or healthcare.
- Supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience working with older adults or vulnerable populations.
