About The Role
As part of the Americas team, SANY is seeking an experienced Engine Platform Manager to become the technical leader for engine and powertrain systems across our rapidly growing North American equipment portfolio.
This is more than a technical support role. You will serve as the primary subject matter expert for diesel engines, transmissions, and driveline systems while partnering with dealers, customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and remanufacturing operations to improve reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Depending on business needs and individual experience, responsibilities may include technical support, product quality improvement, supplier management, remanufacturing support, training, and service operations.

Key Responsibilities
Be the Technical Expert
- Serve as the lead authority for diesel engines and powertrain systems across SANY equipment.
- Support dealers, customers, and field service teams with advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues involving diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, electronic controls, emissions systems, transmissions, axles, and driveline components.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions that improve product performance and reliability.
- Lead failure investigations and identify recurring field issues.
- Partner with engineering teams to develop long-term product improvements.
- Reduce warranty costs by identifying and addressing root causes.
- Provide technical insights that influence future product development.
- Work directly with major OEM suppliers including Cummins, Deutz, Isuzu, Yanmar, Dana, and ZF.
- Coordinate technical escalations and engineering reviews.
- Support remanufacturing standards, inspection criteria, and rebuild programs.
- Assist with technical documentation, service bulletins, and best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to improve product quality and turnaround times.
- Support dealer and internal technical training programs.
- Drive process improvements that strengthen technical support across the organization.
- 5 years of experience supporting diesel engines and powertrain systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise.
- Strong knowledge of transmissions, axles, and driveline systems.
- Experience performing root cause failure analysis.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20–30%.
- OEM, dealer, field service, warranty, or technical support experience within the heavy equipment industry.
- Experience with Cummins, Deutz, Isuzu, Yanmar, Dana, and ZF products.
- Construction or off-highway equipment experience.
- Familiarity with warranty systems, technical support platforms, or remanufacturing operations.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
