Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Deltona, FL (Fully Onsite)

Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 bonus

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team at its Deltona headquarters. This newly created position will play a critical role in supporting monthly and annual financial reporting, maintaining GAAP compliance, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, supporting external audits, and partnering with executive leadership on financial analysis and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to broaden their corporate accounting experience within one of Florida's most respected homebuilders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process through journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Coordinate audit schedules and provide requested documentation during annual external audits.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
• Analyze financial data and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
• Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports for management.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with inventory accounting.
• Cross-train within the accounting department and provide backup support as needed.
• Partner closely with the Corporate Controller and CFO on financial reporting and special projects.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3-5 years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience supporting annual external audits and maintaining internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA or active CPA-track candidates are highly preferred.
