Controller – Metro Detroit (Hybrid) 4 days onsite 1 day remote
We are partnering with a growing organization seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations for a multi-location business unit. This role will be based in Metro Detroit and support several out-of-state locations, with occasional travel as needed.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving operational discipline across the business. The Controller will also have the opportunity to expand scope over additional locations over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, and general ledger
- Manage and mentor a remote accounting team
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and close processes
- Maintain strong internal controls and enforce financial discipline
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Apply and manage percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
- Partner with leadership to improve processes and drive performance
Qualifications
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
- POC accounting experience required
- Experience managing teams, including remote oversight
- Public accounting background is a plus
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Compensation
- Base salary up to $135K (depending on experience)
- Bonus opportunity
Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
