What are the responsibilities and job description for the Open Pool - Part-Time EMS Instructor position at Sandhills Community College?

- Provides EMS initial certification instruction and continuing education courses
- Reviews all completed clinical and field internship student evaluations and determines when the student has demonstrated competency on each skill
- Must show working knowledge of NCOEMS program requirements and successful skills completion
- Will assists the program Coordinator with ensuring that all required materials, equipment and supplies are available for students
- Maintains attendance roster on a daily basis
- Familiarizes him or herself with the Continuing Education Instructor Guide
- Prepares individual and group instruction using a variety of teaching techniques and mediums.
- Returns completed roster to director at end of class with signatures from students and instructor.
- Hold and maintain a current North Carolina EMT-B credential.
- Hold and maintain a current NC Level I EMT-B Instructor credential.
- The teaching experience should incorporate educational methodology, curriculum development, test construction, and measurement/evaluation.
- Valid NC driver license
- Ability to effectively communicate with students in a teacher/student setting in a variety of job search, job readiness, and computer subjects.
- Computer software knowledge and experience.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, and students.
- Experienced in teaching computer skills and information to adults preferred.
- Experienced teaching job search and readiness skills to adults preferred.
