Position Summary
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and operational success of the Beach House Restaurant. This hands-on role oversees front-of-house service, bar operations, team development, and guest satisfaction while maintaining Sandestin’s high hospitality standards. The ideal candidate is energetic, service-driven, and comfortable leading in a fast-paced indoor and outdoor beachfront environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house team members including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
- Maintain a strong floor presence during service periods to ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Monitor service standards, cleanliness, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to support menu execution and service flow
- Manage scheduling, labor controls, and staffing levels based on business demands
- Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and promptly
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and beverage cost controls
- Support special events, group dining, and seasonal programming
- Complete administrative duties including reporting, payroll review, and operational planning
- Foster a positive, team-focused work culture aligned with Sandestin values
Qualifications
- Previous Food & Beverage management experience required, preferably in a resort or high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience managing both restaurant and bar operations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills as well as be able to pitch in and work on the floor as needed
- Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management
- Understanding of labor management and cost controls
- Must be dependable, professional, and guest-focused
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Food Safety and Responsible Alcohol Service certifications required (or ability to obtain)
