General Purpose:
The Housekeeping/Engineering Dispatcher is responsible for answering calls from staff, other departments, guests, and vendors and subsequently dispatch the requests or communications working with the property management system or other means of communication assigned. Provide communication between staff and management for effective operations. Provide friendly, courteous service in accordance with standard procedures.

- Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
- Create a favorable, attentive and positive approach to all guests and colleagues for the best impression of the resort and department.
- Answer all calls with current Sandestin phrasing. Maintain updated phrasing and scripting records according to standards and seasonality.
- Everyone is responsible for having a daily call log, message book, notepaper and any other work materials needed at their station.
- Enter all maintenance and housekeeping requests into Breezeway/SMS/or any other Operating Systems and get them assigned promptly; use appropriate follow-up procedures to ensure requests are completed in a timely manner.
- Dispatch work orders to housekeeping and engineering based on urgency and availability, the style may be via text message, email, radio or other depending on preference
- Coordinate with housekeeping, engineering and front desk for room turnovers, special cleaning requests, and room readiness. This may include units at Housing, dispatching and communicating laundry pick-up/delivery requests
- Communicate with front desk and guest services to update room status, maintenance activities, and guest needs
- Many tasks and Work orders will require to be referred to HOA or outside vendors; handle the needed communication including follow-ups to ensure calls and communication depending on the need for maintenance requests when needed
- Schedule service in a way that minimizes guest disruption and maintains smooth operations.
- Resolve guest concerns by coordinating with appropriate departments
- Will at times have to answer and resolve Lost & Found inquiries and requests
- Assist in the process of billing by ensuring Tasks and Work orders have the needed information and are pushed into the next step/level for owners billing
- Be courteous at all times.
- Take accurate messages for owner/guests/coworkers and dispatch such messages accordingly.
- Direct messages for Sandestin Staff to the correct extensions when necessary.
- Be able to work flexible shifts determined by resort business needs. (Morning/Mid-Shift or evening shifts) and in the different areas or locations where work is assigned.
- Maintain efficient filing system.
- Maintain proper numbers and procedures for paging staff via cell phone or Radios.
- Ensure pm shift responsibilities are completed daily with minimum supervision.

Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Basic Required Skills
- Previous phone/dispatch experience preferred
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same with them.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by the environmental systems.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
