Job Overview: The Banquets Bar-back is an essential team member responsible for assisting bartenders at various events throughout the Resort. This role ensures the bar is well-stocked, clean, and organized, allowing bartenders to serve guests efficiently. The Bar-back will support high-quality guest service and contribute to the smooth operation of banquet functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stocking and Inventory Management:
- Replenish bar supplies such as liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and garnishes.
- Ensure bar stations are fully stocked before and during events.
- Assist in inventory counts and communicate any shortages to the bartender or banquet manager.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and disposing of trash.
- Ensure bar equipment is clean and in good working condition.
- Assist with post-event cleanup and resetting the bar area for the next function.
- Customer Service Support:
- Assist bartenders in providing excellent service by preparing garnish trays, refilling ice bins, and other preparatory tasks.
- Ensure guests have a positive experience by maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Event Preparation:
- Assist in setting up and breaking down bar stations.
- Help with transporting and organizing beverages and supplies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all resort policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to state and local laws regarding alcohol service and safety regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the duration of the event.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including kegs, cases of liquor, beer, and wine, and bags of ice.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Physical stamina to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar tools.
- Visual acuity to ensure cleanliness and proper stocking levels.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from bartenders and banquet managers.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet event schedules.
- Must be of legal age to handle alcohol in the state of Florida.
