Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers.
Duties
- Operate and drive various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ensure timely delivery of freight to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
- Utilize manual transmission when required for specific routes or loads.
- Demonstrate experience in route driving to optimize delivery efficiency.
Skills
- Proficient in truck driving with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and other specialized vehicles.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and delivery driver experience.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Capability to perform basic maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
