Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and classroom management skills to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing, formative assessments, and informal observations; adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Provide mentorship and tutoring to students needing additional support, including those with autism or other special needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and coordinate efforts for student success.
- Engage in curriculum development initiatives to keep instructional content current, relevant, and engaging for young learners.
- Support library services by integrating literacy education resources into daily lessons.
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, professional development sessions, and administrative activities to promote continuous growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications or specialized training in early childhood education or Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged students across diverse backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and best practices in early intervention and behavior management.
- Experience with special education strategies, including working with children with autism or other exceptionalities.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools and digital resources for teaching and assessment purposes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and library services.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience using assessment data to inform instruction.
- Writing skills capable of creating clear documentation such as progress reports, IEPs, and curriculum materials.
