About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in financial reporting, daily accounting operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily sales summary journal entries
- Record daily revenue and statistical entries from Opera and Stripe
- Prepare the Daily Business Report
- Monitor the accounting inbox and respond to billing inquiries and member account questions in a timely manner
- Prepare F&B house comp and PeopleVine gift certificate journal entries
- Review house and event accounts and follow up on outstanding balances
- Retrieve guest folios and receipts to assist with billing investigations
- Assist in resolving guest billing concerns and disputes
- Oversee reconciliation processes for third-party platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and American Express
- Collaborate with Front Desk and management teams on account-related matters
- Participate in department meetings and provide financial insight as needed
- Support ad hoc accounting projects and finance initiatives
Additional Responsibilities
- Distribute Daily Business Reports to management as needed
- Assist with mailings, filing, and general administrative tasks
- Prepare and file 1099 forms for vendors and contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, hospitality industry preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience with Restaurant365, Micros POS, Opera, and Stripe preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and functions
- Experience with Power BI is a plus
