Job Summary
Under the supervision/direction of the Director of Special Education, coordinates a comprehensive school health program including the delivery of services to student and staff members in order to enhance wellness in the school community. Performs duties necessary to meet the individual health needs of students; complies with the laws relating to student health; provides appropriate care for ill or injured students; identifies health problems for referral for proper treatment; and provides health information and serves as a resource to teachers, staff, and administration.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Maintain confidentiality of students records • Understand and carry out oral and written instruction • Read/interpret/apply rules, regulations, policies, rapid learn methods and materials used in a variety of instructional situations. • Sit for prolonged periods • Meet scheduled and deadlines • Work with staff • Perform Basic First Aid Procedures and other Specialized Health Care Procedures such as administer medication, G-tube feedings, catheterizations, etc. Training will be provided by ICOE School Nurse as needed based on student needs
Knowledge of: • Principals of child development • Experience working with students with behavioral problems • Behavioral techniques. • Basic First Aid Procedures Experience Required • Minimum of three years prior experience in a school setting or medical setting preferred. Education • Minimum qualification required: Completion of Nursing Assistant program or Medical Assistant Program. • Preferred qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, or Registered Nurse License, Certifications, Bonding, and /or Testing Preferred • Valid CA or AZ Registered Nurse’s License or a valid licensed practical nurse, licensed vocational nurse, or ability to obtain, CNA, CMA • CPR/First Aid Instructor Certification within one year of employment Required Documents:
- Driver's License Copy
- Letter of Introduction (Or Intent- Letter is a general overview of your specific skills, experience and reasons you’re interested in working with us)
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (minimum of 2 issued within the 2 years, must include dates) Letter in which the writer assesses the qualifications, skills, abilities, interests, and capabilities of the person being recommended in terms of that individual’s ability to perform a particular task or function.)
