San Luis Coastal Unified School District is recruiting for a full-time Office Assistant for San Luis Obispo High School.
The eligibility list for this recruitment may also be used to fill vacancies that occur at various sites in the district over a six month period. Work calendars and hours for future vacancies may vary.
Office Assistants for SLCUSD provide secretarial support to the assigned school site, administrator and department; establish and maintain department records; coordinate assigned projects; and compile and distribute a variety of material and reports. Office Assistants are assigned to administrative offices or school sites, and may perform slightly different functions and tasks based on the assigned school site and office.

The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a vacancy for a full-time Office Assistant for San Luis Obispo High School, in San Luis Obispo, California, and to create an eligibility list for the Office Assistant classification, to use for vacancies that occur over a six month period. Fingerprint and TB clearance, and completion of pre-employment onboarding tasks are required prior to hire.
The assignment for the current vacancy will be on a 219 work day calendar (plus 15 paid holidays). Once a candidate is added to an eligibility list, they will be notified of opportunities that arise over the life of the eligibility list. The work calendar and hours for future assignment may vary.
EXAM INFORMATION:
Candidates who successfully pass screening and have submitted all required documents will proceed to an exam on June 29, 2026. Candidates who pass that exam may be invited to attend an oral board assessment on that same date. Candidates must pass oral board interviews to be added to the eligibility list. The top three ranks of candidates after the exam and oral board assessment will be invited to a hiring interview, date TBD.
SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Human Resources Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces in time of war, or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months.
