Job Summary
The San Luis Coastal Unified School District is seeking a Theatre and House Lead Technician at San Luis Obispo High School. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. Work hours may be during, before, or after the school day, dependent on the program assigned. The Theatre and House Lead Technician will oversee and support all technical elements, operations, and activities associated with the use of the school theatre, including theatre and dance productions, events, rehearsals, and classroom-related performances. The Theatre and House Lead Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the theatre’s technical systems and front-of-house functions, supports instructional programs, manages production schedules and resources, and provides technical guidance to students, staff, and visiting users of the facility.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would include one year of prior experience in theatre technical operations, event management, stage production, or customer service leadership. The following criteria are also required: 1. NCLB Compliance: Candidates must possess ONE of the following: A college transcript showing an AA degree or 48 semester units, OR a certificate showing a passing score on a NCLB Paraprofessional Exam. (If you do not meet this requirement, but meet other screening criteria, you will be invited to take the NCLB exam.) 2. Submit a complete application: A complete and thorough application is one of the minimum qualification requirements to proceed in the recruitment process. If you need an alternate way to submit any of the documents listed below, contact the HR Technician listed on the job posting to request submission options. NOTE that a driver's license is noted as a required document, but does not have to be submitted unless a job offer is made.
- Driver's License Copy (After a job offer is made, the selected candidate may be expected to present a valid California driver's license prior to being hired. A safe driving history is required. Driving records will be confirmed. )
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (At least 1 signed letter for a character reference (preferably drafted within the past two years))
- NCLB Compliance (Must submit ONE of the following: Copy of your College Transcript showing an AA degree or 48 semester units, OR a certificate from a verified educational institution showing a passing score on an NCLB/Paraprofessional exam. If you do not meet this requirement, but meet other screening criteria, you will be invited to take the NCLB exam with our District.)
