About San Domenico San Domenico is an independent K–12 day and boarding school in Marin County, California, 30 minutes north of San Francisco. Founded in 1850, it is the oldest independent school in the State. The School serves approximately 680 students on a 515-acre campus, with a residential program enrolling students from more than 20 countries. San Domenico provides a unique boarding experience rooted in rigorous academics, meaningful student connections, and proximity to the cultural and educational resources of the Bay Area. As the school enters its 176th year, we are seeking a thoughtful and collaborative professional to help strengthen enrollment efforts and expand awareness of the San Domenico experience. About the Role San Domenico seeks an experienced and driven Director of International Admissions to lead the School’s international student recruitment strategy. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, Grades 9–12, this position works closely with the Upper School admissions team to ensure a coordinated, consistent, and mission-aligned admissions experience across both domestic and international applicant pools. This is a senior admissions role for someone who brings a strategic, ambitious approach to enrollment work, the tenacity to manage long recruitment cycles across multiple world regions, and the cultural fluency to build lasting relationships with students, families, agents, and school counselors abroad. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable analyzing enrollment data, developing market-specific recruitment strategies, and representing San Domenico in international settings.

Key Responsibilities The Director of International Admissions will: Develop and execute a comprehensive international student recruitment strategy aligned with institutional enrollment goals. Work closely with the Director of Admissions, Grades 9–12, to align international recruitment priorities with overall admissions planning, policies, and yield strategy. Build and manage relationships with secondary schools, recruitment agents, consultants, and partner organizations worldwide. Represent San Domenico at international recruitment fairs, school visits, agent training events, and other recruitment opportunities. Manage the full admissions cycle for international applicants, from inquiry through enrollment. Support compliance with applicable U.S. immigration regulations, F-1 visa requirements, and SEVIS reporting. Set annual international enrollment targets, track performance metrics, and report regularly to the Director of Admissions, Grades 9–12. Collaborate with marketing, financial aid, residential life, student services, and academic leaders to support admitted students through enrollment and transition. Travel This position requires domestic and international travel, approximately 6-8 weeks per year. Travel may include recruitment trips to China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and other key markets, depending on institutional priorities and emerging enrollment opportunities.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree. Meaningful professional experience in one or more relevant areas, such as admissions, enrollment, international recruitment, independent schools, residential programs, international schools, global education, or related work with students and families. Demonstrated capacity to build relationships and communicate effectively across cultures. Ability to manage complex recruitment cycles, track progress toward enrollment goals, and represent San Domenico professionally in domestic and international settings. Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. Preferred Experience with international student recruitment and/or international admissions. Working knowledge of U.S. immigration regulations, F-1 visa requirements, and SEVIS compliance. Experience working with students, families, school counselors, consultants, agents, or partner organizations in international or cross-cultural contexts. Experience with CRM platforms and data-informed enrollment work. Familiarity with boarding or residential student programs. Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
