Job Summary

Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Distribution Clerk II. Under general supervision, performs manual and clerical duties involved in ordering, receiving, storing and organizing materials and supplies; participates in inventorying of warehouse materials and supplies; delivers supplies, materials and equipment; sorts and packages materials for distribution. This position requires the ability to safely move, lift, carry, and transport materials, adaptive equipment, and supplies on a regular basis. The employee must be able to frequently load and unload materials/equipment and organize storage areas while maintaining a safe and orderly workspace. The position also requires frequent driving of a cargo van throughout San Diego County to deliver, retrieve, and transport materials/equipment to homes, schools, childcare settings, and other program locations. In addition, the employee is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through the use of Microsoft Excel and other databases. This includes organizing storage spaces, tracking equipment, updating inventory records, and ensuring materials are readily accessible and accurately documented. The current assignment is located in San Marcos, CA as part of the Migrant Education and Early Education departments in the Learning & Leadership Services division within SDCOE. Please note that while this current assignment is for the location listed, employees of SDCOE may be administratively reassigned to other locations based on organizational needs. Partial funding for this position is secured through an annual grant.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education, training and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities detailed in the job description. One (1) year of experience performing general warehouse, assembling and/or clerical work. Graduation from high school or equivalent. Certificates and Licenses: • A valid California Class C driver’s license is required.
