ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct shop floor traffic when required to support outbound shipping activities.
- Tag and document daily freight accurately and efficiently.
- Organize and schedule truckloads in coordination with Samuel carriers and customers.
- Create and process shipment documentation for returned goods.
- Monitor the progress of shop orders to generate accurate daily and next-day shipping schedules.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation using both computerized systems and manual forms.
- Manage outbound stock shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- File freight claims promptly and follows through to resolution.
- Attach required documentation and photographs to order records.
- Review and approve outbound freight costs in accordance with company guidelines.
- Process domestic and international UPS shipments.
- Prepare and manage custom documentation for international shipments.
- Close out and reconcile daily shipping bills.
- Update and highlight daily shipments on finishing and sales reports.
- Track and report daily shipping revenue.
- Communicate effectively with Sales, Customers, and third-party Logistics providers as needed.
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate product inventory records.
- Plan and optimize loads for truckload, LTL, and Target Freight shipments. Maintain strong working relationships with freight carriers.
- Assign shipping tasks to Finishing Utility III team members as needed.
- Understand and adhere to ISO system requirements and the elements related to this position.
- Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and scheduling the most cost-effective carriers while ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Provides full coverage of primary receiving functions during periods of absence to support departmental continuity.
- Perform other business-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Must have a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Must be able to read blue prints.
- Must have either a High School diploma, 3-5 years’ experience or an associates degrees (or equivalent) or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
- Customer Service experience, data entry experience.
- Must be able to learn effectively utilize Samuels ERP system as relevant to positions.
- Must be able to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with additional hours as required to meet business needs.
- Must exhibit strong, respectful communication skills when interacting with peers, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
