As a Technician 2, you'll help keep our customers' operations running safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment. Whether you're working at a customer site or in one of our shops, your expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety will make a direct impact every day.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, basic welding, and major component repairs to keep equipment operating to manufacturer standards.
- Complete service documentation, maintain parts inventory, care for your company vehicle, and ensure every job is completed safely and professionally.
- Participate in technical training, support a Safety-First culture, comply with DOT, OSHA, and company standards, and assist service leadership with recruiting efforts as needed.
- High school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and at least 3 years of forklift repair or closely related mechanical experience; trade school training is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues, read precision measuring instruments, and perform quality repairs. Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, along with a commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning. Hyster-Yale certifications are preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, provide your own tools, travel to customer locations, work in a shop environment, and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
